UK Friends of TOSE

UK Friends of TOSE exists to raise funds for the upkeep and development of TOSE and also to raise awareness in both the UK and Zimbabwe.

Funding for disabled people in Zimbabwe is very difficult to secure and we help in any way that we can.

Projects part-funded by the UK Friends have included:

· Purchase of a hoist for the hydrotherapy pool

· Salary of some therapists

· Transport of some clients to attend mainstream school

· Contributions to running costs, upkeep and equipment

· Provision of other specialist and educational materials

 

TOSE Home, Zimbabwe

TOSE aims to improve the lives of severely disabled people and their families or carers, assisting clients to achieve all that they are able to, particularly those with multiple disabilities.

TOSE is run by local Zimbabwean people for local people and aims to change attitudes of communities to disability.

TOSE is not a permanent residential centre but devises individual rehabilitation programs for each of the clients in conjunction with specialist staff.  The home can house up to 48 clients.

TOSE is a national assessment centre and no one is turned away regardless of race, age, gender, religion or any other reason.
