Here are some of the projects and activities past and present, undertaken by UK Friends of TOSE. |

Once or twice a year the UK Friends are able to man the charity car park at Welwyn Garden city to raise funds. Currently we get to keep 50p for every pound paid in parking fees, plus any additional donations given by car park users. |

We have been given a charity theatre night in St Albans to raise additional funds. It’s taken a long time to get to the top of the list, but we finally have a date and a play! See calendar for more details. |

Periodically, usually once a year, we have held a concert. We have been entertained a few times by the wonderful Caduceus Brass, a brass quintet from Aylesbury. This year we hope to put on a Latin Evening in Rothamstead, which was planned for May but has had to be postponed due to unfortunate circumstances. We will post updates once a new date has been confirmed. |

In 2006 we began holding what has now become an annual charity bingo night. Hosted by the knights of St Columba, these evenings raise a lot of valuable funds each year. |

In 2006 sales of plants and cakes at the Redbourn open garden managed to raise enough money to buy a fax machine which we sent to TOSE. Unfortunately the new fax machine has since been destroyed by a lightening strike and needs to be replaced. |

Over the years we have raised money through a number of cake sales, raffles, and markets, as well as car boot sales and coffee mornings. |

In 2006 we tried something new: several years of collecting change in a giant whiskey bottle gave us the idea of selling tickets for people to guess how much was in the bottle with a cash prize for the winner. |

We’re always looking for new ways of raising funds, and we would love to hear from anyone with ideas at fundraising@friendsoftose.org.uk. Thanks! |
